Pen Style Vape Kits

Pen Style Vape Kits specifically refers to the overall shape of the vaping device and vary in different shapes and inhalation techniques. Traditional for beginners, these slender sticks are often made simplistic with few functionalities to avoid unnecessary confusion over features other styles of vaping devices have, such as adjustable airflow, adjustable output/wattage/voltage, temperature control, digital display, and so on. With the advancement of technology, pod kits with features such as inhalation activation are replacing button activation to make these simple starter kits even easier to use, especially for adults looking to quit smoking with the least amount of hassle. Whether you’re a beginner looking for their first vape kit, or an expert looking for simplicity, we are sure you’ll find your perfect vape amongst our vast array of “pen style” electronic cigarettes. What is a starter vape kit?

A starter kit is the most basic of electronic cigarettes. They are the very first steps towards making the switch, helping you finally quit smoking and save money in the process.  Small, pocket sized and super convenient.

Most beginner kits are extremely easy to use, not having many settings or features like the more expensive sub ohm vape devices loved by advanced users, but that’s the beauty of them. For an e cigarette starter, all those extra settings and features can make things a bit confusing. With an e cigarette starter kit, you can expect a vaping experience close to that of smoking traditional cigarettes.

What’s included in a starter vape kit?

A vape starter kit will include everything you need straight out of the box, excluding the e liquids. E liquids will need to be purchased separately. Included in your starter kit will be a rechargeable battery – often in a pen style, these are still referred to as a vape mod. A tank for you to fill with your preferred e liquid flavour of choice and nicotine strength of choice to provide that most satisfying throat hit. Also included will be at least one replacement vape coil, depending on the brand or price of the starter kit there may be two. Coils are the heating element in every electronic device that vaporises the e liquid in to vapour for you to inhale. Vape coils are to be replaced every week or two depending of how you vape and how often. Keep an eye out for a burning taste, that's when you know it's time for a replacement coil. And finally, a charging cable to keep you topped up and away from a stinky cigarette.

What e liquids should be used with a starter kit?

As vape starter kits are generally quite low in power and are meant to replicate the experience of smoking cigarettes, it is key that you use the correct e liquids to not only provide you the correct throat hit from the nicotine strength chose but also to use the correct viscosity e liquids. Unlike smoking, e liquids vary in nicotine strength and whilst the can provided a very satisfying throat hit, they can also provide one that's either too strong or too weak. E liquid can also vary in viscosity, if you use an e liquid that is too thick for your vape starter kits it can lead to a coil burning out far too soon, and using a liquid that's too thin in a sub ohm vape products can lead to leakage.

We highly recommend using a e liquid containing a 50/50 VG/PG ratio or higher in PG. This ensures the e liquid is thinner enough to be vaporised efficiently by your vape kit, resulting in a more pleasurable experience and a longer lasting coil.

Another type of e liquid that's recommended for use is starters kits is nicotine salt e liquid. These e liquids use a salt base nicotine which allows for the consumption of higher nicotine strengths without the harsh hit you'd usually expect with a freebase nicotine e liquid, usually used with a pod kit for this reason. Nicotine salt e liquids are almost always a 50/50 VG/PG ratio as well making them a great addition to any starter vape kits.

Nicotine strength is of key importance. You should always get the correct nicotine strength to compensate for the amount of cigarettes you smoke in a day. If you're a 20 a day smoker, we would recommend anywhere between a 6mg and 12mg freebase nicotine strength, or alternatively if you prefer Nic Salts between a 10mg and 20mg (as these liquids are smoother in nature despite the strengths). You can find more information on nicotine strengths here.

What’s the best vape kit for new vapers?

With there being such an extensive range of vape kits on the market to choose from it can be confusing to know how and where to start vaping. When deciding on which vape kit is best for you, its key to take into consideration what it is you're looking for from your vape kit. Most starter vape kits will offer up a mouth to lung vaping experience, the key differences to look out for in a starter kits are the style of the vape mod, is it a pen style you're looking for? Does it look appealing to you? After all, you are going to be carrying it around with you all day. What is the battery capacity? Or is battery capacity not a major factor for you? Is the tank convenient enough for you? A top fill tank is by far the easiest means of filling a tank, less mess and more e liquid retained for you to vape. Does the tank have adjustable airflow? Is that a feature you could live without?
